The aim of this proposal is to describe a possible solution for the Editing Support in MapStore2. This means the ability to edit vector layers on the map and their features. So Than functionality will be available in MapStore2 only for vector layers and will be an improvement of the existing Feature Grid.
The main topic of this proposal are listed below:

Some existing behaviors involving the Query Panel and the TOC components will be changed to better guide the user in its workflow. So from the layer leaf in the TOC the FeatureGrid will be directly accessed with an initial (not filtered) feature's content (the Query Panel will no longer be accessible from the TOC).

An improved toolbar in the top of the FeatureGrid allow to manage various kind of operations like the existing ones and some new functionalities like:
- Ability to filter the grid content opening the Query Panel
- Ability to switch the grid in Edit mode and so add/modify/delete features (in edit mode all the other unrelated functionalities will be disabled/hidden).
The main functionalities of the Edit mode will be:
- Add new features and geometries to the layer
- Remove features and geometries from the layer
- Edit features and geometries

Several improvement and restyling of Feature Grid will be implemented
An interactive mockup is now available here for the MapStore2's community to illustrate the above functionalities and collect feedbacks for this proposal.
